A few months ago I published a video titled "Sea Silk: The Golden Fleece?!" on the Seahorse and Co YouTube Channel. It was about the Mediterranean Pen Shell called Pinna Nobilis which was harvested and used to create Sea Silk.
Unfortunately, the plight of this endangered species has gotten worse with a newly identified parasite that is causing mass die-off events. Check out the following link to the science magazine article about this die-off event and how it's threatening the extinction of this fascinating species.
